The strategy of the oil companies has been the talk of the business shows (except Fox Business, of course).  They have no incentive to expand drilling, only to create an oversupply and perpetuate the boom/bust cycle that has been going on for over a century.  Maybe they finally learned their lesson, but the timing…

Another boomer here. I don’t know how strong AARP is these days, but 10-20 years ago they were a huge lobbying outfit. Restrictions on elderly drivers were one of their big targets. Compounding AARP with the elderly population of Florida will just result in the status quo.
