The strategy of the oil companies has been the talk of the business shows (except Fox Business, of course).  They have no incentive to expand drilling, only to create an oversupply and perpetuate the boom/bust cycle that has been going on for over a century.  Maybe they finally learned their lesson, but the timing

I believe the Escort picture is the European version as well.

Sammy Hagar really rocked with Van Halen!

From the USDA web site:

It seems to be happening in Florida and Texas.

In 2006 America switched to low sulfur diesel.  This move allowed other nations who had already switched to low sulfur to compete for the diesel produced here.  Before the switch, America was a closed market.  Now, diesel is priced at the global level.

I believe the proper British term is ‘sacked’.

I considered owning a pinball machine until I saw one opened up to see a dizzying amount of wires and servos. I’m sure the talent pool for pinball machine repairers has dwindled to zero in the last 40 years.

This is as much a logistics problem as it is a cost problem.  Carrying larger loads, better scheduling, and less dead-heading will help.

“There’s a massive talent hole in engineering between 60 and 30 year olds. Hardly anyone is in engineering between these ages. You find engineers with 40 years of experience or less than 10. Hardly anything in between.”

A neighbor has an Echo.  It will change your mind.

Except for the “B”, it performs identically to the fob for my 5 year old Cruze. Yes, the trunk release depicts a generic car, but that’s because my Cruze IS a generic car.

There must be a way to repurpose those old built-in phones, but I can’t figure out what.  Any ideas?

How many people live around the Salton Sea?  If I were them, I would have moved a long time ago and ruminated on the poor decisions that got me there in the first place.

Another boomer here. I don’t know how strong AARP is these days, but 10-20 years ago they were a huge lobbying outfit. Restrictions on elderly drivers were one of their big targets. Compounding AARP with the elderly population of Florida will just result in the status quo.
