The beltline is one of my favorite aspects of my e39. Great big windows with corresponding excellent visibility and very arm-resty.

It’s not racist to point out something you’ve observed. I work at art exhibits, and I regularly see Asian people touching the art. This is obviously anecdotal but I’ve never seen anyone of any other group touch the art. Never. 100% of the time I see someone feeling the art they are Asian. They look real close to see…
Exactly. It’s not about impressing neighbors. I love used cars and i love oldold bmws. There are plenty of them on the road with 200k+ miles. I have an e39 540i, 14 yrs old and it cost me less than a new base level nissan versa. If you’re not afraid of getting your hands dirty an older bmw is an unbelievable value.

Jack is 100% correct
Exactly. We have three kids under 6. My wife drives a flex and i had a focus st before trading it in for an e39 540i. A midsize sedan or a decent sized hatch is plenty big as a second car with two or three kids. We like to have one larger car for the occasional family trip but 90% of the time we’re rolling in the e39.
I deeply believe warranties are for suckers. Obvioulsy the companies make money on them. They’re not selling them because they are a good deal for consumers. Despite the DeMuro contingent, over time, there’s just no way you come out ahead. Maybe on one specific car/other purchase, but not over time.
“the estimate was from a BMW dealer.”
I did. I got rid of my less than 2-year-old Focus ST for a 2003 BMW 540i msport. Yes somewhat inspired by Tavarish. I had absolutely zero issues with the Focus and by any reasonable measure it was a great car, but I didn’t LOVE it. As a 35 year old with three small kids I always felt a bit childish in the ST.
