Wasn't it figured out that the GT40 used Corvair taillights?

Here's my list of favorites.

$2500 is NP. Worst comes to worst you swap out the complicated bits.

Very sad what they've done to this 912. The sbc upgrade from the original flat four doesn't bother me. The body kit and modifications, though. CP without a doubt.

In Las Vegas, NV it is Dayna Roselli.

Great news! I learned something from Jalopnik! I now know what the DELCO acronym means.

In some ways what you are describing is 24 hours of LeMons on a far grander scale. Street cars with a cage. Varied ages, models and makes on the same track competing.

Thanks but no thanks. I'd take an original or a brand new 2011 but an enhanced restoration of a 1965 model does nothing for me.

Another reason why we cannot have nice things.

Interesting idea. My daughter went to Germany last year, I should have had her bring an offering by proxy.

Or a German guy named Wolf. Wolf is one of my trusted mechanics.

A return of Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth and Pontiac!

I figure that I'm cursed with the "nice guys finish last" curse. I try to do the right thing but must have had bad Jetta Karma {Carma?} in a previous life or maybe it's getting back at us for selling the '72 Westie.

The weird thing is that I've not had any little issues, aside from the cassette player choosing to die and I was using it to connect my satellite radio unit.

After I bought it, I started hearing horror stories. The VW is not the same as my Roadmaster, for sure. I miss the simplicity of the Buick even if it was complicated for it's time. I don't regret getting the car. I just wish the German engineering wasn't so expensive to repair/replace.

Burnt up inside. I've never had the car overheat and it had been serviced after I got the car 30K ago. I got to work one day without incident. Went to leave and it was like there were banana peels under the front. Had to massively rev to move forward. Got towed and fixed. Picked it up yesterday. Haven't really

144k miles. I keep telling myself that a new car would cost more than replacing this one in my current financial state. The cost of a new car purchase, insurance and registration fees would exceed my initial investment and repair costs, so far.

I own an 01 Jetta TDI. I can speak for experience on this. $11k is just the tip of the iceberg. Count on at least $2000 per year on mechanical/electrical repairs. I really like my Jetta but my wallet doesn't like the upkeep.

I think that for the money it is NP. You'll be the only one in a Falcon like this at the Saturday morning Dunkin Donuts car show.
