I really like my 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. Looks and handles like a super car for a fraction of the price. 5K for a rust-free example in decent shape and another 20K to make it whatever you want in terms of speed.

I own a 1991 MR2 Turbo and love the thing. Do yourself a favor and stop waiting for a new model that might never come or makes the same mistakes as the Spyder (no offense). A decent 1991-1995 MR2 Turbo can be had for $8,000-$10,000 and replacement/performance parts can be found with ease.
