1988 was the first year for the GMT400, but the Blazer didn’t move to the new platform until the 1992 model year.

Grateful that all the comedians are chiming in here while Jay is out of commission. Classy.

How did he get money to buy food? Especially at airport prices!

I find it hard to believe that the COGS for Rivian’s electric vans are actually $200k.  COGS is the actual per-unit cost, without any additional amortization of the startup costs like machinery, workforce development, and so on.  The only way it would cost $200k is if they were still doing things like machining parts

What about the THOR 5F? If that’s the one you are implying is simply just a scaled down male, I don’t believe you are correct. It’s proportioned and designed after the 5th percentile female, which is quite small.

I’m not sure it looks great. It certainly isn’t ugly, but it is bland. It somehow reminds me of the anonymity of the NMS Passat. Honestly, I prefer the 10th gen. While the 10th gen has some oddities to it, it as a bit of commitment to something more than blandness.

The maintenance on the 6.2L alone would be my choice even if the 6.2L only got 10 mpg.

Poke yoke?  This guy manufacturing engineers.

everyone employed by this site is a clown, is how

Given the description of all the potential damage to fuel pumps, DPF, etc., I wonder if any of this will be disclosed when this press car is finally sold as a used car.

I can’t imagine this particular vehicle having the same reliability as one that has never been accidently filled with gasoline.

It’s also about the majority of vehicles being petrol. Only something like 1.5-2% of all light duty vehicles are Diesel. Making the poke yoke nozzle preventing diesel into gasoline vehicles absolutely makes sense.

That’s how you know the difference between journalism and automotive journalism- when the writer doesn’t notice the difference between a diesel and a gas engine. A “car geek” of any sort would be excited about the Diesel part of the journey, a writer the “Escalade” part.  I think you’ve defined yourself.

Gas Vs. Diesel:

Vipers should have manuals, dammit.”

15 years will almost always have lower rate than 30 years from the same lender.

Dude, this things are slow as shit.

Pretty sure this is a joke, but in case you’re not, most sand dune areas require a flag to drive your vehicle.

The race to EV is probably the biggest disconnect between political proclamation and physical reality that I’ve seen, and that’s saying something. Pass a law, pat each other on the back, then tell the private sector and local governments “screw you, figure it out.”

On the flip side, there are people who give zero fucks about bed capacity to the point they replace (or order without) the bed with a flatbed to make towing just that much easier.

If you are hauling that much, your trailer will also have brakes, and those will yank your ass to a stop pretty quick.
