It’s only Monday and already my “this week I will be good and not made crude jokes” promise is being sorely tempted.

It’s always surprising to me (still) when people think that electric cars are the cure-all to everything that ails us. It’s absolutely better for the environment than petrol-powered cars, but just like everything else, comes with its own issues. Metal mining is going to explode in the next 5-10 years as battery…
Many may not understand the minds of car enthusiasts, but behind so many cars are stories of the people who drive and love them. :)
It would be nice if the posts were marked to indicate what they are, kind of like how there was a note when Torch and Tracy’s greatest hits were posted when they left.
I was wondering the same thing
I always assumed this had something to do with not having an EIC. Reposts have already been fully vetted... but what the hell do I know
Came here to say this. A pilot line for a new process is never going to be as cost effective or efficient as a full scale operation.
It seems to me that if this was scaled up and run by governments the price could be lower per gallon than petro fuel.
This makes so much more sense than a fully electric infrastructure for the reasons you mentioned. We’ve got a liquid fuel distribution infrastructure that spans the globe already. I don’t see any…

..... you’re not wrong... I bought my K1500 with the 5.7, and 80,000 miles for about $2k back in 2012 when gas spiked, and it’s served me really damn well for everything i needed it to do for the last 10 years. I also have a smaller Volvo i picked up for $800 for my main day-to-day stuff (which im getting rid of soon,…
I was a cyclist... until a cycling buddy died in a bike accident that freaked me out. I completely get slowing, looking, and rolling through on not-very-busy stop signs. Lights, if the light wouldn’t change for me and nobody was around, I’d go through after stopping for a bit. But man, there are some egregiously…
Now that the whole world is batshit bananas all the time and new cars are all but inaccessible to anyone who isn’t making bank, this is all the more true.
Well, with the exception of one or two scribes here, WE are the enthusiasts, not the staff.
Well, every so often you have to zag when everyone zigs.
Using your phone’s navigation means either: CarPlay/AA or mounting your phone to the interior somehow. In most cases, that works well.
So you’re reduced to whining about the party NOT in power?
For you, no.
Just make a simple EV hatchback already and sell it in America for $25,000. I will buy it, I promise.
Exactly, affordable EV’s have been on the market for a while, and people choose not to buy them because generally they’re terrible cars, and you get far more bang for your buck when it comes to ICE vehicles.
