As an E60 M5 owner, you’re both wrong. Besides the rods, which you check the filter every oil change for metal particles, the car is solid. The SMG has a few issues, agreed, but I’m suspecting people make it bigger than it actually is. If you don’t want to risk it tho, get a 6spd.
