It seems to be that in Red Team/Blue Team, the writers found that having the main characters on opposing sides was a good way to generate drama, and they found a way to put that in more episodes. It's like "Hey, why don't we do this every episode?"

Yeah, it was like that episode where Alicia got caught up in a fight about a former client who left her millions in his will. It would change the show too much to have her win.

The writers would likely come up with some final act twist that allows both sides to win.
