Why turn the switch off and then back on? Since the switch has to be smart anyway, just design it as a momentary contact. Push on, push off. No need to turn “off” a switch that is already off!

No reason to do that if you use a electronic dimmer rather than a manual one. Ever see the dimmers where you just hold your finger on a panel rather than moving a physical knob or slider? Now you can dim the bulbs with your phone, motion sensor, the wall control, or whatever.
