I was one of the folks who was like “We should maybe withhold judgement until there are named accusers.”
I’ve given this some thought, and I disagree. I think rumours and allegations about things like sexual abuse should be taken *more* seriously, and people making allegations should be given the benefit of the doubt.
I heard Tom Jones is being forced to play What’s New, Pussycat on repeat at the Salt and Pepper Diner. Truly horrifying stuff.
I mistakenly stated that shows deal with the return of their protagonists from exile in their season premieres, which was incorrect, because that basically happens in both shows’ 3rd eps. My bad.
(Minor Bojack Horseman spoilers alert)
The middle finger to audience members obsessed with show details was ballsy and awesome.
Dan Harmon should just stop making episodes...cuz all of these keep melting my face off
I kinda wish the comic would get adapted. As far as the Council of Ricks go before “our” Rick murdered them, the Doofus Jerry arc would have played out well on screen. Well, maybe not the part where Morty thinks about the buttholes of the Golden Girls.
What a genius episode. It felt like an hour long episode with all the elements they put in. I would love to see what was om those letters, but its obvious that Evil Morty has the upper hand now.
I’ll be honest, the first half of the episode had me wanting to rush here and rant about how bad it was. But holy shit, that Evil Morty reveal at the end (which I’ll admit I didn’t see coming), helped to turn the episode from one of the worst of the series’ run to one of the best.
“I don’t even own a Potter!
It’s like Bran has the internet and no one else does.
I don’t know if any show has ever been of this magnitude—that may be a tricky thing to quantify—but Seinfeld season 7 was pretty awesome. It had George’s engagement, the Soup Nazi, The Sponge, The Maestro, The Rye, Susan’s death...the list goes on.
You left out that Morty did not hang up the phone on purpose at the end of the episode, to let Rick find him. I liked the American Psycho reference and that Morty was possibly tired and self-aware of that life style. Maybe he realized that he was going to head down a similar path of American Pyscho never being…
Very interesting how each of them viewed what their weaknesses are. Morty’s self perceived weaknesses are mostly cowardice and low self esteem. And yet he also recognized his subservience to rick as a major weakness. As a result healthy morty is a much smarter and more functional person.
If it’s not playing over the title menu screen on the Season 3 blu-ray, I’ll be very upset.
And yet the one format which is actually pragmatically and artistically a joy to behold, 70mm IMAX, is only ever used by Nolan, Brad Bird in his mission impossible movie, and Snyder in his terrible DCUniverse movies. I want more actual IMAX movies! Heck, even Skyfall’s semi-faux IMAX version was great!
Curiously, they are having this screening in Austin when all the clowns are actually in DC.
I surfed the Gawker sites to slum, and the A.V. Club was where I went for high-minded discussions on why Batman v Superman sucked donkey balls. There are no more lines in life. And since I had an old school account, I can’t “upgrade”, and am in the grays until we can “claim” “legacy” accounts. Donkey. Balls.
