Yes - exactly. I’m kinda surprised there’s any outrage over this. His own statements that he was swerving “while putting on a seatbelt”, combined with his high BAL and his failure of the field sobriety test is pretty damning.

Wait a minute - his BAL was 0.067. The limit is 0.08 (at least where I am). And you can easily be impaired under the ‘legal limit’, and still subject to prosecution. So no - at least here - 0.067 is absolutely not a guarantee that the dude was ‘sober enough to drive’.
No idea if something like that is even feasible,
.067 is pretty high though... Might not be legal limit high, but I know myself and I’m pretty buzzed by .05, let alone .067. If the dude was swerving “putting on a seatbelt” something tells me this guy was driving impaired, which is still illegal. Yes .08 is the legal limit but you can still get a DUI while under .08…
How long did it take to take that blood sample? It was higher than 0.67 at the time of the arrest. He’s driving after having been drinking, putting his seatbelt on while the vehicle is in motion. Sounds like pulling over to investigate makes sense. Refusing to perform a sobriety test kind of limits the cops…
At least in the states I have lived, refusing a sobriety test is treated as a failure. I’ve seen the online “advice” that if you think you’ll fail the sobriety test, you should refuse it and delay as long as you can for the blood test in hopes that it will take multiple hours to get there so your body has more time to…
I think it’s hyperbole Dave
like you got a car? cool. You like cars? cool. show up chat have coffee etc.
This website used to be good. Torch would never </3
This whole article sounds like the old man who would vote for traitor trump. Grow up.
Thank you. Someone sees throught this garbage.
Thank you for this. I enjoy a good car show for whatever. There’s a guy that brings his old 80's Pontiac (a mild sport variant model) to the local show. He never wins and he knows this, but he tells a great story about his (now deceased) wife used to drive it to her work and then passed it through the family. Now it’s…
I’m glad someone here gets it. This article is basically The Problem With Car Culture. Why bother going to a car show if you’re annoyed by seeing cars you don’t like? I like seeing purple hot rods, classic Mustangs, restomod, corvettes, beaters, etc. If something doesn’t spark my interest, then I move on.
That’s kinda silly. Car shows are a social event where you get the opportunity to see interesting stuff - getting to see some historical vehicles as well as modifications on some cars that reflect the owner’s tastes and creativity. It’s part craft show, part social gathering. I can’t get behind the argument that…
I go to a particular Cars and Coffee every Saturday morning. I take the back roads there and the back roads back. So I get to do both.
The “lifted truck” hate is a weird one to me. I think you need to specify as there are many different ways to lift a truck and for different purposes.
I’ve gone through the 7 stages of grief with this article and arrived at my final conclusion of acceptance and hope with a bit of defiance.
Wow there sure are a lot of grumpy non-car-people commenting here for it being an automotive enthusiast site. I agree with some of these like tinted windshields and The Squat, but roll bars and diffusers? How is that affecting anyone other than the driver who may actually track their car on weekends? Subwoofers and…
Ban Everything guy.
I’m fairly certain this isn’t the first time ya’ll have had this list. The comments were practically identical. Do ya’ll have something else to talk about that isn’t complaining about big trucks or right wing politics? This website is such a drag.
