Who knew retina scans would work on old paintings?
somebody hack a quick flash program where you enter the values and it draws the lines and counts the dots and shows the answer. that would be neat. a nice screen saver even.
@QLAB: funny you call grade-school level arguments the same arguments that most presidents of the united states have held.
@QLAB: you don't believe in trickle down economics? case in point. the guy spends 100000 a year on christmas lights cuz he's rich. where does that go? it goes for jobs and pay at the christmas lights factory, it goes for jobs and pay at the hardware store, it goes for jobs and pay at the electric plant, it goes for…
@The Lab: as far as construction, there's a guy on youtube who does it with concrete replicas BY HIMSELF with no help at all. As far as transport, they could've in fact CARRIED them, though they obviously were not so stupid, so they would've rolled them on logs or balls or wheels, or they could've left them rounded…
@The Lab: yeah, but why does it matter how they actually did it, when they could've done it any number of ways? the cool thing about SH is that it's aligned with the stars, and that it's so old yet still standing.
didn't some Russians get lost in space? or monkeys?
@spyderr0de0: dude = "frustrated" (at having heard yet another reiteration of the foolish notion that Stonehenge is somehow a miracle of construction for the time)
to all the economic idiots out there complaining about the spending, please realize that the money went to provide jobs and incomes to all the factory workers involved in making lights, and the energy money went toward the pay of the energy plant workers and the coal miners. And don't forget the ladders they bought…
@wjbean: trust me, it's a joke. the wheel was invented way before Stonehenge. just a bunch of blah blah Grandfather telling stories to impress his grandchildren going on.
dude there's SO many ways they could've done it. it cracks me up to see a bunch of academics who grew up driving cars, watching tractors and forklifts not have A CLUE that building immense stone structures got done just fine without our modern contraptions.
Thank you Faucher family. you make so many families happy that get to drive by and see the pretty lights. other greedy people hate you, but I remember the joy of family drives around town as a kid to see the pretty lights. it was a very special part of christmas. thank you.
@runplaysleeprun: it does help the poor. poor people love to drive by and see rich people's lights. and it's free. and why don't you eat only beans and rice for a year and give all the money you save to the poor. you hypocrite.
@Erik Spak: they've given more to the poor than you have. do your research or better yet, ENJOY THE SHOW and shut your hypocritical mouth.
@daqman: dude the whole "you couldn've fed X number of african children is LAME. and you sir, are hypocritical. look around your own room and at this computer screen and think of how many kilos of beans and rice you could've given to the starving children in india. Idiot.
@QLAB: so you're saying they should've been forced to give you their money, even though they already pay more than you do in taxes?
That's so lame. sheesh. hehe, but I guess at the time they just wanted a success, and figured they'd be right back soon for some proper exploring. I want to see a graphic that includes the later missions. Didn't they have a buggy? surly they must've gone a mile or two.
not at all
@IceMetalPunk: OH, yeah, I remember that now. don't know where it is. maybe if you ask on whitenoise
