No. Asking a sikh to remove his turban is very rude and is not the same as asking to remove a hat. They are not supposed to remove it in public like that.

It was explained to me that removing the dastar (turban) feels almost like nudity. Imagine being asked to remove your pants in public for some random reason.

Yes, as an article of faith, they’re required to not cut their hair and for the men to wrap their hair up in a dastar.
