Not change the text strictly speaking, but rather than have a French/German/Japanese/English intertitle, have a translated one in the language of the audience. I believe this is effectively what was done then and doesn't change anything for someone who doesn't speak the language.

Considering most intertitles are strictly utlititarian, I'm ok not being a purist about having the original text, as long as (as Binky points out) the intertitle isn't done in a style that screams later addition.

But isn't it what would often have been done at the time?
After all the birth of the talkies also meant the crumble of some local film industries as there was now an obstacle to exporting the films.

In these cases, we have printed books somewhere, and if we don't already have a back-up file somewhere else, it will be easier to just scan the books (and probably cheaper and more convenient too), so I'll leave it to an IT person passing by to say if there is such a thing as fixing corrupted files.

Digital files can definitely corrode. I work in publishing and any PDF that hasn't been touched in years will usually end up corrupted (that might have to do with the hardware being left unattended or poorly taken care of, but I hope printers know better), I imagine it's similar for video files.

I have absolutely no idea how these thing work I'm afraid (which is one the reasons why I found the article so fascinating), but I know I do have one DVD that also has them, the French edition of Lost Highway, so I assume they can stay through careless work.
Though in the case of that screening, I wouldn't put it past

I was surprised too, some screenings were meant to be film and others digital, maybe there was a mix-up in the brochure or a last minute change.

I'm not a native English speaker so I'm probably not as clear as I could be, but in that case it did look digital I thought (and then, here again the timeless and slightly fantastic tone it gave could have been intentional), especially compared to another movie they showed around the same time where I had to

One was 8 1/2 in the current re-release by the bfi, that one I'm relatively confident was supposed to look like that even if I found it very white (but it did highlight the surreal quality so it would make sense if it was intentional).
One where I have more doubts is Mother Joan of the Angels as part of Masterpieces of

With a few movies I saw lately, I was wondering if the clean-up hadn't gone a bit too far, of course I have to way of knowing how they originally looked so it's only speculation. But the movies I'm thinking of looked very white and smooth for lack of a better word; reading this article, I wonder if there are times

Start a grass root campaign to get them on top of the charts, it worked in the UK a few years ago.

They might still manage one a year, Harry Potter was almost on schedule for that.

Grindr turned into the Hitler youth so gradually, I hardly noticed.

Some even wait until they're married (which is occasionally also three dates).

Everyone knows Alien vs Predator was the better game on the Jaguar.

Drunken hook-up is definitely a thing, but I get the feeling that when it comes to dating proper, people become a bit more prude.

It's not sad yet, that comes when you're no longer able to get it up.

When you say you're in the beginning stages, how long have you known each other and what does she know about your situation?

Not only that, it also seems to ignore what I watch too.
But I'm a new user so maybe that will change.
