There’s generally implicit feeling from a lot of the takes on the original Avatar that it didn’t deserve to be the biggest film of all time, either for story reasons or because people online didn’t talk about it enough. 

There would probably have been the added complaint that they would have been too alike or that there wasn’t enough dramatic tension (one of the Network had with the Orbach/Chris Noth pairing).

I absolutely loved that, especially finding out the fates of two of the great ships of the saga.
