I've given up flagging obvious points in the story where SHIELD could've been the awesome series we know it could've been— connecting to the MCU without getting in the way of the movies.

Considering the history of the super soldier serum and similar formulas, it's hard not to think that it won't come in to play.

They have talked about wanting to bring Zabo back, so he might return down the line.

That, or he's a stand-in for The Superior and there's an extra-layer of identity secrecy.

Yup. Ward should've turned up like a bad ex. Infrequently, but when it happens, it's devastating.

If it's still all about the Darkhold, then perhaps the Superior is a supernatural Marvel character, like Damian Hellstrom. That would be the excuse needed to bring Ghost Rider back for an episode, and maybe do one more connecting thread to Dr. Strange, like a Wong cameo.

Can you imagine how long that "conflict" would've lasted if it was a CW show? Half a season, and then brought back the following year!

For a brief second I've consider the possibility that Coulson was an LMD for the entire duration of AoS… and that he did indeed die in Avengers.

Or the Radcliffe LMD - thinking he was real Radcliffe- sent in his own LMD… totally unknown to OG Radcliffe! We could go deep-LMD confusion on this one…

Yeah, I wasn't 100% Radcliffe was referring to himself.

It's a pity there hasn't been an episode entirely focused on his own backstory and motivation, maybe connecting him to The Hulk. It's an even greater pity he hasn't shared a scene with Secretary Ross, and likely never will.

I genuinely think that the only narrative device they have available to them at this point is an LMD Ward.

I think some may be suspecting that the anti-Inhuman ideology is just a shell game for The Superior. He's doesn't care about Inhumans good or bad, he's after something else entirely.

Ah, so someone we haven't seen before. I wonder if he'll turn out to be a known Marvel character.

Yeah I wasn't 100% sure Radcliffe was the second LMD mentioned. My money was on Coulson, given Radcliffe's encouragement to May that she pursue a relationship with him.

There's a lot of elements from S1, even boring ones, that could be pretty useful to have around now.

I still keep waiting for Talbot to take a call from Secretary Ross…

Yeah, I was thinking Mace, too. Hopefully not. Since we probably won't find out until near the end of the season, it's possible we haven't met The Superior yet. The show was talking about The Clairvoyant before Paxton got introduced…

If Ward has a future at all, I'd say it's over in the LMD plotline…

All true, but I think the show failed to fully capitalize on the season 2 momentum. It also really feels like they've been blocked from using a lot of characters you'd expect on a SHIELD show; not only the big ones from the movies, but characters yet introduced to the MCU.
