I enjoyed it as well! I sent it to a friend because I felt it had more insight into improvisational cooking than their standard cook to the recipe fare.

Here for "Salty Molly". Also can we get rid of Delany and his incessant chatter about how cool his taste in music is? This show is about FOOD.
It was nice to see Claire not beaten down by her Cadbury Egg recreation of the week (the UK ones so much better than ours).
Chris and his kids is a delight. He always seemed a little uptight and stuffy (which honestly I was already into), but then just seems to really enjoy his kids makes me love him even more; “I will be respected!”.
Aw I loved the Pantry Pasta episode! I agree some of the recipes were a little redundant, but I especially enjoyed seeing Priya, Carla and Chris interact with their families. I don’t even want kids, but seeing Chris be such an adorable dad made my ovaries twitch a bit.
I’m crying. That was so good!
Here we go. Sophomoric, but I laughed because,
A. the children don’t know why these are funny, and
B. because it’s always nice to be reminded that decency standards are different on British and American morning telly (and thank goodness for that).
One of the most frustrating yet hilarious phone conversations I’ve ever had: walking my grandpa through making a grilled cheese.
I really wish that I had a picture, because it really was taking over the counter, spreading towards the stove!
Sadly, our pizza was....not good. It was bitter and shockingly fiery, and our friends had to choke it down because we were poor college students, and there was no money for anything else. I think most people ended up scraping as much “pesto” off as possible and just ate the chicken and pizza crust. Luckily, we had…
Every time this incident came up in the five years after, he swore that he simply followed the directions that I gave him to cook a steak on the stove top (medium high heat, a little oil, how many minutes per side for a sirloin, etc).
I’m a better cook now. But I saw this recipe for Goat Cheese Pesto Gnocchi Macaroni and Cheese. It’s all the things I want to eat. After backing the gnocchi with a bunch of dairy, goat cheese, and pesto, you sprinkle on some Panko and broil. My dish was a bit too close to the broiler and panko is extremely…
When I was about six years old I was helping my mom make sweet tea (it was the South). She told me to get a cup of sugar and add it to the jug.
At work, and in my life, I spend a lot of time talking about Lucretia Mott (abolitionist, women’s rights reformer, all around amazing Quaker) and I’m also kind of obsessed with her food tendencies. She carried snacks around in her cloak. She loved to cook and was proud of it. So much that when a newspaper misprinted…
Most of my adult culinary disasters simply involve “overdoing the fancy” and I’ve pulled back significantly and learned to really appreciate good ingredients, simply prepared. I remember, back when a)my father was alive, and b)I ate meat, I made a roast beef dinner when he was coming over. I pulled out the…
The pictures didn’t convince him. The bribes he and the athletic director accepted did, however.
How did those rowing pictures ever convince a coach those girls could row?
