While most of my bills can be set up as pre-authorized withdrawals the downside has always been that they all seem to come due on the same time - two days prior to pay day. I never found that setting up a separate account really works for me.

I'll second the comment on bacon or any cheap fatty food for seasoning.

Most joggers don't provide the head/neck support that sub-1 year olds need. Umbrella strollers are awful too. Try pushing one of those through 3 inches of slush.

As a parent of two kids I can see it happening. You get knocked out of the routine and forget.

I used to use Tasker to put my phone into airplane mode and dim the screen. But it seems that with JellyBean that capability is gone.

to answer some of the questions -

I think a much better approach is to use a bean bag as a camera rest. Light, cheap and will work on irregular surfaces. It will support anything from a Elph size point and shoot to a dSLR with a 70-210 f2.8 lens.
