the harness replaced was probably the engine harness only as they had the earth friendly habit of decomposing before your eyes. not sure of the whole car needing it as the engine compartment gets all the heat.

back in the day I remember seeing a 2 door with no back seat. Had a roll bar and racing buckets. if you are worried about the top pump or the cylinders, you shouldn’t. Pumps are readily availble used and cheap. The cylinders can be rebuilt very inexpensive. If you can’t wrench yourself, there are companies that will rebuild them for you. And after the 1st summer evening drive with the top down, you will ask…
antenna mast are like $15 new and easy to swap. Or the whole hirshman can be bought $75 on ebay....these cars are really more reliable than you folks are letting on. i also have an 88 300ce, 94 sl500, and a 98 ml320. Oh yeah and the forgotton parked 85 300d. so i do know a little about ownership costs on these…
it may not be the sensor...I have a 93 300te with the same malady. It turned out to be the actual gauge went south......$75 off ebay and fixed...so don’t jump to conclusions about the oil pressure being bad. My 93 has over 275K miles and it stills has great compression and oil pressure. And the comments about these…
