I’m not- I am in public policy, in a place where we all have degrees in social sciences. It’s everywhere.

I (a woman) got promoted this year to a senior position over several male colleagues who all have crippling social/emotional issues and are general assholes. Guess what the narrative is in my group right now?
I met Soledad O’Brien at a conference this summer and started following her on Twitter. She is the crown princess of that particular media platform, second only to the queen Ashley Feinberg.
But also—did you see what she revealed about his hair??? That it is a result of “scalp reduction surgery” to remove his bald spot and sew the more “hirsute” hair together.
I really hate that they give so much space to people with incredibly specious reasoning, then hype it on the front page in a spot where it can be easily confused with editorials from the actual editorial board.
So if someone stabs you and you call the cops, you are perpetuating a culture of victimhood and asking someone else to solve your problems?
To acknowledge abuse is not a demand for more paternal protection but rather to expose the flaws in our institutional architecture; to point out that their foundations were laid for the protection powerful, purposefully rendering other vulnerable.
They absolutely will, but I also think this will push congress to legalize or at least reschedule federally. There is a lot of support for legalization among Rs and Independents as well as D’s. Old folks get cancer and glaucoma....
God, Bob DuPont, Bertha and Ed Meese are on that commission?! There are some really smart, really nonpartisan career folks at ONDCP who could have contributed to a rational and non-biased discussion on how the Feds should respond to state legalization (re-schedule, obvs, then move toward full legalization and…
That’s true—they just made the “this time, it’s personal” stuff way too front and center. Also, while I love me some Ice T, he is excruciating to watch as an actor.
I like when he came back later on as a defense lawyer.
I am so sorry. Have you visited or contacted her? If not, you might consider it. Outside connections are so important to people who are incarcerated. Depending on which system she is in, there may be ways that she can make some safe space for herself and find some refuge from the trauma.
I hate-watched. She was a stone cold b tho.
I agree- but what really broke my heart were the women who turned around and victimized other women in similar ways. As I’m writing this I am thinking about one woman in particular, who was convicted of serious crimes against other women (in a criminal organization involving men as well). I’ve never spoken to anyone…
I’ve done a fair amount of research work in prisons, and I’ve noticed that some prisons allow women to “dress up” (scarves, makeup, etc), and those women are invariably more emotionally healthy than women in other facilities I’ve visited. And I will say that no matter how horrific their crimes, I have never spoken to…
Did you know he was the candlestick in the animated Beauty and the Beast?
Was that during the Benjamin Bratt years? Those were rough ones. Lenny did a lot of heavy lifting for everyone.
My god, when I watch the horrible shell that SVU is now and think about those early L&O episodes, I realize how far we’ve slid as a society.
Oh yeah, your husband’s BFF was checking out the landscape for some extramarital fun.
I recently learned from our mandatory harassment training that everyone basically gets one freebie in situations like these. Also, I’m senior to her so I could totally have had her fired (which she accomplished for herself by various other means anyway).
