Never has a name so perfectly matched a visage.
Never has a name so perfectly matched a visage.
I mean, that signature is BANANAS. It looks like it’s scrawled in some ancient devil-language that portends bad times for Buffy and friends.
I am triggered by your James Levine molestation demo doll.
That’s exactly what has/will happen.
OMG I can’t believe I made that typo. I literally yell at my kids every day for doing that. Too!
Yes yes yes yes yes.
The dress seems to big for her. If you’re going to have that sort of mesh crap on your dress it can’t be BAGGY. It looks like someone else’s dress that she grabbed at the last minute. But the horses are cool.
I guess I don’t understand your viewpoint. I agree that we don’t get to tell everyone how to think, and your points about how to achieve change make sense. But, this is a woman with a platform, and a platform that arguably is skewed toward men already primed to uphold rape culture. She is making an argument that…
Then we should stop listening to her opinions on anyone else’s victimization besides her own. I think it’s a tragedy if she blames herself for her own victimization. That should not give her standing to provide more fodder for abusers and rapists and apologists.
Except that she’s not just an average person. She is given a platform and people listen to her as if her viewpoint is valid. We can’t just patronize her because we all recognize that she’s been victimized—if she wants to speak out by blaming other victims, she should be held to a higher standard.
I absolutely see the logic in your reasoning and think you’re spot on about what’s going on in her head. But shit, when do we start demanding that people who lack imagination live outside of their own experiences? You’ve done about a thousand times more mental work than Pam has just in this comment, but she’s given a…
Really? A tangential comment about her interesting family is somehow indicative that I am lousy or did not actually fully absorb that she was victimized? That seems like a bit of an overreaction.
Yes, absolutely, that is my only takeaway. You’ve really shown me, thanks.
Wow, I just googled her. What a family! I never imagined that a single family could contain Lena Horne, Sydney Lumet, Bobby Cannavale AND P.J. O’Rourke. These are interesting times.
but I don’t think I would ever want to work for her.
Real question- can you explain how Casimir Pulaski Day reads queer? I have never gotten that from the song.
“And he takes and he takes and he takes” kills me.
My kids both love Casimir Pulaski day, even though their tastes run in opposite directions of each other and of Sufjan. They both cry when it comes on and occasionally request it (as the cancer song). I think he’s one of the most underappreciated musicians today.
I just can’t believe this show first aired in 2009. It feels like something from the late 90's, when we were all young, innocent and shallow.
OK, I grant you that it’s not safe. BUT I would argue that the Hiltons committed a far worse crime with their “tablescape”.
