I don't see a reason to feel pissed, it just makes Sony look bad. I've heard companies say that their game is influenced heavily by another, so I don't see why Sony can't. It looks like they're taking kart racing as this long established genre that's always been there independent of any game company, and just thought

I'm labeling it a copy because Nintendo defined the genre, innovates the genre and uses characters from non-kart games in Mario Kart.

I would go as far as to say Nintendo created the genre, and is the main innovator of the genre. The only reason for a company to make a kart game with characters they already have is to copy the success of Mario Kart. Again, I don't see anything wrong with that, unless people are pretending its not true. I don't think

I hope I didn't give off the impression that I'd disagree with what you're saying.

I'd have much more respect for this if they said they loved Mario Kart, and wanted to do something similar on the PS3. No shame in that unless you're pretending its not true.

I agree with you for FFVII because after having the series have summons in IV, VI and VII, it was like a giant surprise to see this amazingly long summon. VIII had it from the very beginning, and there didn't seem like much behind it.

Were you between 10-15 when the PSX Final Fantasies came out? Was a PSX FF your first? If yes, then there's a high chance you're biased.

Can you go back and sit through FFVIII's 20 second battle loading and minute long GFs?

I see the cycle in sixes and not threes personally. VI and XII I thought were both amazing. I, VII and XIII were both at the beginnings of new journeys. II, III and VIII and IX were all awkwardly finding their way. IV and X were the beginning of getting things right. V and XI are unique focusing on battles.

Yes, you can count XI, but counting X-2 is cheating. :)

I was wondering if you were going to be a dick about my snarky and mistaken comment.

People aren't all straight males. I hear there's something called FEmales out there, but I'm not sure if it's just rumours.

Amazing how little the NES and SNES sold comparatively.

Please please please please please let third-party games not be shit and sell well.

Really? I think it's a selling point.

True, there was the chance it would've been a failure if they didn't cut the price.

As soon as there's a white Vita, and PSone classics are playable, I'll buy one.

That's more of an argument against how Kotaku is framing it I believe. The source is an explanation as to why they will make a profit next year, and it's one of the factors.

They being about 10,000 to 20,000 people.

Manufacture cheaper, they're not raising the price.
