This looks like a really good game (judging from videos) and I'm downloading the demo now, but....

Games looks decent, and I would be willing to try it... but as I am left handed, I'll dedicate my time to the many other good games out there.

Perhaps you're in more civilized circles than I am. I've never watched anime, but find times for "ore" in conversation. Business/formal is "watashi", and very very rarely "boku" (sometimes a situation presents itself). To each their own tough.

Living in Japan with a Japanese 3DS. Bought it with Layton last year, and am playing the hell out of Theatrhythm now! :)

Awesome. It's been out here in Japan for a while, but I'm glad that NoA is coming through for all their fans. Looks like Wii will have a great last year in NA.

I hate it when people say that! It's like, "yes, I know it's not usually used, but if you know what it means and when it's used, then I want to do!"

I hear many people use ore in many situations. I can't imagine not using it if I'm at the bar with a bunch of friends.

The background to this is recently there was a stat was (I think) 30% of guys and over 50% of girls university age has zero interest in sex, and that's while Japan has a declining population.

I appreciate your concern, but I'm would not be studying to speak Japanese (I have business Japanese books for that.. interviews coming up!), but for just for feudal/strategy vocab and other things. Figuring out styles and types of speech is not a worry. :)

Pardon my ignorance, but were there any good games for the Game Gear?

Whenever a game is priced for around 5000 yen it's easy to find around 4000 yen on release day, and likewise for 6000 yen games being 5000 yen. I'm not sure why they officially set the price so high.

This is the next 3DS game I plan on buying. I skipped Resident Evil, and I'll skip Metal Gear Solid. It'll be my first Fire Emblem game. I'm excited. Good Japanese practice too I'm assuming.

Bibinba is good stuff. When I went to Korea a few years back, it was basically all about food for me.

Any video game that relies on cutscenes to tell its story is not using its medium properly. The desire to see video game cutscenes seems more like a desire to watch a TV show or a movie. I'm not saying they can't be done and done well (Metal Gear Solid 4 was amazing), but it's like the first TV shows using a radio

Here's hoping for the rapid expansion of the Virtual Console service, and if we're doing wishful thinking, the beginning of merging Wii and 3DS's Virtual Console.

There was a guy a while back talking about what true gamers are, and how if you don't do X, Y and Z, you're not a real gamer.

I assure you, I have no idea if entering a taboo discussion, and if I am, I apologize and walk away from it.

Pretty sure Lin's family is not Formosan, but they did in fact escape to Taiwan with Chiang Kai Shek.

I walked by Konami's store (in Tokyo midtown) the other day, and that was intense. You'd think it's the only thing they're selling.

New world citizens and old world citizens talking about nationality... two completely different definitions.
