Thinkpads are my all time favorite laptops. IMO they are like the Compaq’s of the mid/late 80’s, i.e. no compromise. I still own (and use daily) two W500’s. If the ‘retro’ thinkpad is manufactured with the same quality and attention to detail I’d buy one in a heartbeat.

I’ve been fortunate to have numerous FFM and MMF threesomes. Although I enjoyed them I always felt kinda overwhelmed, almost a sensory overload.

The thing about these and other videos of atomic/nuclear bombs is there is no sense of scale. You know they’re huge but how huge? I wish there would be some annotation saying this video was taken (N) miles from the blast. And it would be especially nice if it were the same distance so you could see the relative size…

If you like Band of Brothers and Letters from Iwo Jima you really really need to check out The Pacific, an HBO mini-series. Both are favorites of mine and I’d rate The Pacific as good as either.
