At the risk of sounding like a fanboy why not a WRX? Got a 2011 hatch a couple years ago (after vowing for years that the first car for my own money would be a Camaro) for <$24k all told with 68k miles. Lower mileage and slightly newer examples are now there or cheaper.

I used to volunteer at an aquarium, and we had both seals and sea lions. Larger front flippers is sea lions, small front flippers is seals. The graphic is clearly a sea lion.

HOW? I have a 2011 WRX wagon and I average around 23 with a combination of mostly back roads and mixed city/highway.
