This all the way. I thought by now we were past this Wii/Kinect era gimmick.

Sounds like a good time. I’m not in the camp that needs it to be an RPG just because the first 2 games were. As long as it’s a fun game, i’m in.
Truly dark times.
Genesis 6-Button controller. As someone who couldn’t get enough Street Fighter 2, this was a complete game changer for someone who only had as Genesis.
I owned a GCN, and i don’t recall that at all. Everything i bought was the standard $50 common at that time period.
So is the next gen the point they push that $70 mark as a new standard? Meh, i’ll wait a couple weeks and get it on one of the inevitable seasonal sales for half that.
I know i’m not the only person who read that headline and registered the Metal Gear “!” sound in their head.
Thank you Luke. The art posts are one of the most consistently satisfying thinks on Kotaku.
If you have either DS or 3DS, you should really try Picross 3D. It’s fantastic.
Can we all just stop talking about this chud.....forever?
Ditto. I’m not offended by it. It’s just not that great after you’ve played through the box once. It’s the same obvious jokes over and over.
The look on his face when she’s done is absolutely priceless.
It’s not super flashy, but i think the depth of having shorter range “tap” based kicks, and longer range “press” punches will be interesting to watch. Also the 1-2 combos of one arm after another could be interesting. She seems like she will need to practice to use effectively. I think they did a good job translating…
How the sex scene with Lupe ended was one of the most genuinely funny moments on TV this year.
This feels like a Bob Dylan plays electric kind of moment.
Did they say if EA if going to keep forcing everyone to shoehorn their game into the Frostbite engine?
Ooh! I’ll have to check this out. I have a few of Fantasy Flight’s board games, and while i love them, they do tend to be a little too finicky for their own good. It’d be nice to have a digital version to manage the fussier details.
I think that’s totally fair, but that’s what Kotaku is. I would say there’s plenty of room out there for both styles of reviews. At the very least I appreciate they don’t attach a score to their reviews....which is a meaningless exercise anyway. I think this form of review is most helpful for single-player, narrative…
I don’t know about that. This review feels distinctly Kotaku for me. They tend to focus much more on the experience of playing a game and explore the themes and ideas presented. There are plenty of other major outlets the will take the approach of a bullet list of features and ignore issues of tone and messaging.
No, Louisiana is America’s asshole. In a very literal sense, and somewhat metaphorical sense also.
