I was born and raised in Toronto. I’ve always spelled it “cheque” but I’ve been exposed to enough media (admittedly mostly American) in which it’s spelled “check,” that I didn’t want to be presumptuous.

I mean, yeah, but come on, I’m in my mid-forties and, while I was admittedly kind of a nerd, even as a kid, I knew Marlon Brando was an icon.

Wait — fellow Canadian here. I agree that it was a poorly written sentence, but what do you think of when you see “checks”? I think of the bill at the end of a meal but also a way of transferring money (albeit one that isn’t used as much anymore).

I never took a side with Jolie/Aniston (the biggest asshole in that scenario was Pitt), but it’s pretty clear that Jennifer Aniston had zero issues with the “girl next door who got cheated on” messaging.

What I was coming here to say. He helped her get her foot in the door — that’s what nepotism is.

They really aren’t, dude. I think the standard practice of casting mid-twentysomethings to play teenagers on tv shows is fucking with people’s heads because if you’re actually around any real-live 17-year-olds — male or female — they are freakishly young compared to full-fledged adults. I come from a large extended

She can still be non-binary and want to return to she/her pronouns (I have no idea about Lovato in particular, but it’s possible).

A lot of MRA types seem to get taken out of the greys. Don’t know if they are just trolling or they’ve moseyed on over from sister sites and those MRA talking points are now mainstream (as if they ever weren’t, though, I guess).

Thank you. It’s so fucking ubiquitous now and so fucking lazy. I only started commenting when the pandemic started (hence the username), but I’ve been a lurker forever and the downfall of the comments section is just sad (with a few notable exceptions).

Michael Stipe sounds nothing like Nicolas Cage. Like at all.

Seriously. This comments section is full of old men, and I say that as a Gen X/Xennial woman. I mean, even I know how famous Styles is. He’s fucking huge.

Where can we watch this?

Honestly, that’s the most relatable thing about her. Avoiding awkward small talk with other parents FTW!

I hate when two actors from the same series/movie are nominated in the same category. Or more than one song from one movie, etc., etc. Way to split the vote.

Wait, so it’s presented as completely normal and cool that someone gave a series of handjobs to score a position in a boys’ club National Lampoon-style magazine? Jesus. How is that not being discussed more?

Because while it’s not cool and I’m not a fan of violence, it still kinda feels like if someone had the same reaction to a Black person using the word “cracker” as they would to a white person using the n-word.

I haven’t seen SSLCG, but I’ve heard so many good things. What didn’t you like about it?

You’re in a thread full of dudes. You’re not going to get them to understand that while domestic violence is never cool, the threat it poses it to men is not equal to the threat it poses to women.

Aaaahhh…it’s just a personal pet peeve of mine ever since I had religious neighbours as a child who would say “Fuh!” instead of “Fuck!” (didn’t even bother to say “fudge”). Either say the word or not, dammit! The good lord above isn’t impressed.
