You must be able to be nominated without being a member (think of someone like Anna Paquin being nominated for her first role in the Piano). Same with attending. He likely won’t ever be nominated again (or invited back for a long time), but that would be the case even if hadn’t resigned (or gotten expelled). 

I’m guessing it means he can’t vote for the Oscars anymore. I don’t think it means he can’t ever attend the ceremony, as plenty of non-members attend.

Seriously. His behaviour was the very definition of toxic masculinity (something this site supposedly deplores?). You can defend your loved one without resorting to violence.

People can tell the difference, but it’s like when tv shows and movies use blackface to show how ignorant the character using it is — it’s the same tired joke over and over…and it almost seems like an excuse to use blackface. (And, for the record, I actually saw Licorice Pizza in the theatre, don’t think PTA should be…
