That’s what I mean, though — the ads are way less expensive so how can this podcast be worth so much even if it’s super popular (for a podcast)?

The same could be said for tv, but even if you put all the major podcasts together, wouldn’t that be way less marketshare than even one top program?
For sure, but I have been listening to podcasts for years and I think I have yet to buy a single product advertised despite the awareness raised.
I listen to podcasts all the time, but I still don’t understand how they could be worth that much money. I have yet to buy a Casper mattress or a pair of meUndies, but I guess I’m in the minority.
Me too! This is exactly where my mind went. Would Teigen have been the surprising voiceover choice (a la McEnroe) or the more obvious one (a la Samberg)?
When you’re greedy, everyone suffers.
Specifically, a Canadian Jew. What can I say? Many of of his observations resonated. Yes, he is white and male, which he readily acknowledges, but he’s also Jewish, a distinction this site rarely seems to make (right down to Ashley’s peepaw jokes about Bernie Sanders — he’s a zaidie, fer chrissakes).
I’m listening to his audiobook now (it was a fast loan from the library and I was curious) and it’s pretty funny — and more insightful than you’d expect.
I get what you may have intended to say, but just accept the criticism that you probably could have phrased it a whole lot better.
Isn’t he also rumoured to have a raging temper?
Fran Lebowitz is wrong about people growing more conservative as they age. It’s a myth. The reality is that rich people live longer and rich people tend to skew Republican.
Same. It’s absolutely a step down for her at this point in her career.
Simone doesn’t sound exactly like Simon, though! I don’t even think of them as being related, the same way Stephanie and Steven don’t seem related!
The only reason Jaden isn’t named after his dad is Will Smith’s son from his first marriage is already named after him (nicknamed “Trey” because I believe he is the III).
Emily, like Michelle or Stephanie, doesn’t even really sound like its male counterpart.
I make an exception for Isadora myself.
Not a fan of feminine names that are just lazy adaptations of masculine ones. See also: Roberta, Georgia, Alberta, etc. At least Charlotte doesn’t immediately remind you of Charles.
Hot take: the Huxtables were terrible parents. (Or at least Cliff was anyway and I’m not just saying that because of what Cosby turned out to be.)
When you see Gwyneth on talk shows…she almost seems in on the joke? Kinda dry and goofy? Maybe I’m giving her too much credit that she is as self aware about her image as someone like Mariah Carey, but I can’t believe that even she doesn’t realize how ridiculous quinoa whiskey sounds.
Marky Mark seems to be under the impression that he’s actually in the running for a potential Oscar.
