Does the expression “the banality of evil” apply here or am I misusing it?

May I ask where you live? I’m in Canada and we act like we’re above this shit happening here. It’s so ignorant of both our history and our current reality.
As the Lorelei Gilmore once noted, Kevin turned out to be (at least at one point — I haven’t followed too closely; I’m sure he’s a tool too) one of the more stabilizing influences in her life.
Agreed. None of this smells right. I know that images can be misleading, but I’ve seen tighter security at...just about every arena concert I’ve ever attended? They moved out of the way for them.
Ariel Pink has one good song. I’m not going to say what it is —no need to give him any more publicity. The rest of his music, the little I’ve heard, always stuck me as very emperor’s new clothes: if you were cool, you got it — and no one likes admitting they aren’t cool. (At least in his target hipster demographic; at…
I found this Misha Gessen article interesting. She says the idea that the police were in cahoots is just a conspiracy theory; it’s more likely they didn’t seem them as a threat:
Too late to ETA my earlier comment: Look at Kylie — she had a shitton of surgery to look like her big sister and it’s like a copy of a copy of a copy. Yes, she photographs well from certain angles and, yes, she’s built a career with millions of followers out of it, but it’s clear — at least to me, anyway — that she…
See my comment to SparkPlug128. It’s such a toxic family dynamic. When Khloe and Kylie basically turned into different people it wasn’t even that surprising.
It’s also a really toxic family dynamic, as evidenced by the extreme measures taken by Kylie and Khloe, the so-called ugly ducklings of the brood.
I can eat a full dinner watching Dr. PP clips. It amazes my husband.
Me too. It’s not a moral judgement on plastic surgery. She was legit stunning but seemingly also deeply insecure.
She was beautiful even before all of the surgery. Someone would argue more so — she’s become addicted to it. It will probably become even more extreme now that she has — gasp — had the audacity to turn 40.
See Steve’s reply above — I didn’t realize it could taste like soap to some people and they would still be into it!
Interesting! I would have thought that certain tastes are more likely to elicit certain reactions (e.g. disgust).
I’m so sorry. Can I give you a hug?
Isn’t it the opposite? Don’t most people like cilantro except for the small number who have that weird gene that makes it taste like soap?
Can’t read about Larsa without thinking of Benito Skinner’s impression of her. As in, I’m not sure I’d ever seen her before this photo, but I am familiar with her role in the Kardashian universe through his parodies.
It’s a feminist classic:
Word.
