What country do you live in? And how can you buy a car before it’s even on the market? By definition a car is “on the market” when the general public can buy it. If you’re not the general public, then your argument is moot anyway.

At the end of a car note, you’ve also paid about 3x more in payments than the lease. I don’t necessarily condone leasing, but if you’re only keeping brand new cars for 3 years at a time, then the cost comes out to about the same whether you lease or finance.
Have you considered how much longer those cars have been on the market and how many more cars they sell? Of course you’re going to see more very high mileage examples.
Why do you think they’re just sitting on the lots? Based on sales numbers, they are essentially selling every single one within a week or two. Their sales are limited by manufacturing capacity (5000-6000 per week for each model). Seeing a few models on the lot does not mean they are not sold or not about to be sold…
Leases are just based on how much a car costs. Barring any large incentives, any car with that MSRP will have similar lease prices assuming similar residual values and money factors which most cars have. Americans are way too hung up on monthly payments.
A ton of well selling crossovers are FWD machines. This includes the Pilot, RAV4, GMC Acadia, previous gen Explorer, and Mazda CX9. I’m partial to RWD cars and I would probably never buy a FWD car as my main car, but there’s nothing wrong with these. They provide all the utility of a “real” SUV like high seating for…
To be fair, the Palisade and Telluride are in the same size range as the Honda Pilot or BMW X5. Big, yes, but not giant. The truly giant SUVs are the monstrosities from Lincoln, GMC, and Toyota. These are either significantly longer or taller/wider.
That’s how it is in America. It’s very rare to pay sticker or more for a car. It’s only reserved for very new cars in very high demand. I’d imagine that’s how it is in Europe as well. It only gets covered in blogs so often because it’s so unusual. Not because it happens a lot.
Kia/Hyundai have a 10 year 100k mile powertrain warranty. They also have a class leading 5 year 60k mile B2B warranty. Most other cars in its class have a 3-4 year warranty.
No, it’s not. You’re thinking like most American consumers and just looking at the monthly payment. You’re ignoring down payment and total length of payments (i.e. total payments made).
Fauci and Birx haven’t done anything wrong. They are just being normal human beings and not letting their emotions get the best of them. They haven’t lied about anything. There will be plenty of time and other people to work out these issues. Fauci and Birx have work to do and it’s best done where they are now. I…
I’m not saying it’s all luck, but do you realize how many millions of engineers have lived and died in Silicon Valley? Most of them very smart. If you’re in the right place at the right time, have better than average motivation, are willing to take risks, and it helps if your family is at least upper middle class,…
If you’re purely thinking aerodynamics, it’d look like a teardrop. The problem is, that shape is unwieldly and it becomes impractical for storage and maneuvering tight spots. It’s a solid middle ground between aero and practical function.
Toyota and Honda already make a lot of “normal” looking hybrids. The Prius is the Prius. It was originally designed to be pure function over form and it was wildly popular. I think it makes more sense to be conservative with the changes and continue to expand their lineup. If people want to buy a normal looking hybrid…
First of all, a body kit is purely cosmetic whether it’s going on a Porsche, Camaro, Prius, or kei car. If it gives the owner enjoyment, what difference does it make whether you do it to a Prius or a sports car?
I have both and there are a ton of compelling reasons to get a console. First, the games are optimized for one specific set of hardware specs. This allows a game to look far better on a console compared with equivalent hardware in a PC. Which goes to my second point which is that consoles are far cheaper than an…
Even with a valve, masks still greatly reduce the spread of airborne droplets when talking and sneezing. I’d say it’s closer to 80% as effective, not just 50%.
Cable companies operate as regional monopolies so that’s not a valid comparison. There are some legs that are underserved, but for the most part domestic and foreign air travel has good competition. If one airline can offer better service for cheaper or the same price, they will do it do drum up more business. Unless…
People these days want everything at cut-rate prices. They complain about first class having access to a lesser used bathroom or being closer to the exits. Well they could have those things if they paid more. Next will they complain their cars should be as good as BMWs for Toyota prices?
I have what is basically the 27" version of this with a higher resolution. These are great monitors if you care about color accuracy and viewing angles. These are not good if you’re looking for a budget monitor or for gaming. There are obviously a ton of 1080p 24" monitors on the market for under $100 that would be…
