Well they seem to be selling really well. I see a ton of them in my area pretty much as soon as they came out. Usually I don’t see that many models of new cars until after a year or so.

Basically >90% of American Hyundais are made in America. The Elantra, Sonata, and Santa Fe make up basically all of their sales and all three models are made in America.
Well there’s also the concept of saving up enough money before you buy a car. I know there is always going to be a fringe case of someone who is desperate and needs a car right away due to some unforeseen circumstance, but that is not the norm. Most people are just buying cars when they could easily wait to save up…
That’s an interesting way to say that Hyundai offered him more money than VW Group was willing to.
You mean that’s the design you prefer. I find it interesting that people always claim some design that they idolized in their youth or a car their parents or they happened to own happens to be the objective “best” design. For me, the B5 A4 is a far better looking car. But I know that’s just subjective. I think the C5, …
Whenever someone makes a comment about a lot of plastic on an interior I wonder if they’ve ever sat in a modern car. Even cars that cost $100k have a lot of plastic on the interior. There are cheap plastics and there are expensive plastics. They’re not all created equal. These are cars that we want to be as light as…
Peter Schreyer is not owned by Audi. Audi has HIM to thank for his design prowess. Corporations are not what make great cars, it’s the people they hire.
The X5 had a third row since before the X7 even existed.
This is a blog. Stuff is not meant to be taken too seriously here. If you want journalism, go to the Post or the Globe. I’m not saying they can just make stuff up either. But floating is a really bad thing when you’re trying to wade a stream. Once you tires lose grip, you’re at the whim of the river. You might never…
I honestly prefer it that way anyway. It’s so much easier to find parts for your car and making so many changes was more of a way to get people to upgrade.
The BMW X7 was literally a big deal when it debuted a few years ago because it was the automaker’s biggest SUV to date and its only three-row option.
You’re limiting the discussion to exactly one data point, range. I could also buy a Nissan Sentra for $15,000 and get over 300 miles of range. What’s your point?
What are you talking about? I took the difference in cost in gallons between regular and premium fuel.
I don’t think it’s as much as you think.
There’s no more valuable tool to cook meat properly than a meat thermometer. I’ve also found that it’s not worth messing around with cheap ones. They can take 10-20 seconds to come to a proper reading. This may not sound like a lot, but that’s way too long. If you want a proper thermometer, just spring for a Thermopen…

I try to stay away from refurb iPhones. Half the time I get one due to a warranty issue, there’s always something slightly off about them. Like the screen isn’t perfectly flush to the body or the home button feels like it’s been used. You’re still getting a used phone that’s been put together by a repair person. Also,…

So you have an E550 and you wouldn’t buy a modern E class because the E350 they gave you as a free loaner is slower than your car?
Certain Porsche models are probably the only cars that will work with and I somehow doubt they’ll be giving out 7 year 0% loans on GT3s.
That’s interesting because the more expensive a car gets, the shorter its effective life is. If they matched the car warranty for the full ten years, you could buy a $120,000 car at $1000/month. Now that I think about it, that’s not even that great.
If you have enough money to be able to pay the car in cash without draining your savings, then your scenario works. But we know damn well most people getting these 7 year loans are just living paycheck to paycheck.
