Would it make you feel better if BMW weren’t using “virtual displacement” as the numeric indicator? They are just using a relative power measurement of the engine. Also, a V8 BMW 740i of the past makes less power than an I6 BMW 740i of the present.

Engines are getting smaller but power is increasing. So you get more power, better fuel efficiency, and less weight. Yet you complain.

As turbocharged engines and electrification technologies become more prevalent, torque is a better representation of available power than the current system that uses displacement, Carlisle said.

I think it’s different and you’re oversimplifying it.

People keep saying that, but there haven’t been any spy shots of a different model (front engine or otherwise). I’m fairly sure we’re all getting one mid engine C8. Especially if it is starting in the 60k range.

It’s the American way!

I don’t think anyone (including Infiniti) is saying that Brexit is the sole reason or that Infiniti sales in Europe aren’t abysmal. But they might have been able to keep the factory open even if local sales weren’t very good. Now they are moving production to Japan or the U.S. since they will obviously still keep

I think real world 0-60 tests were about a second behind the magazine 0-60 tests. There are some sources stating that they were encouraged to do clutch dumps at 5000-6000rpm to get those 0-60 times. I can’t anybody who actually loves their car that would do that their car.

Well, if it weren’t for Brexit, it might still be worth manufacturing Infinitis there to sell globally even if the local market were lackluster. With Brexit, it makes it untenable. So they have to shutter an active factory and lay off a bunch of workers.

Your dad is living the dream. I feel like at his age though, the GT86 would be well suited. Yeah, that was stupid.

I saw the episode and it wasn’t part of it. Most of the cars in the background were just part of the endurance race they had entered their cars in. Maybe the RX-7 was Harris’s daily.

It’s easy to say this, but how many different dealers have you bought cars like this from? Many dealerships simply don’t allow this. Sometimes to get the best deal you have to go in and get your hands dirty.

They still paid less than what they would have at CarMax or Tesla since those don’t allow for any rebates at all. I can’t believe men (and women) seriously can’t work up the courage to ask for a discount on a car. You’re all so scared that you’d rather be FORCED to pay full MSRP. lmao...

Financially illiterate people who only care about the monthly payment are why we have the massive auto loan debt we do now. On a 0% loan, the payment doesn’t matter as long as the purchaser can afford it. Users like OP probably drive an American car on a 84 month loan.

They got 0% APR. Who cares what the payment is? All reviews indicate this is a great car for the money.

I have Maseratis in my family and all around my neighborhood. They are not that special. There has to be a certain price limit to intangibles. Maserati goes WAY over that limit.

Eh, there are a ton of Maseratis where I live. My neighbor has a 3 year old GT and my father in law has a 2016 Quattroporte. One of of my other neighbors has a Ghibli but I find that car just plain ugly. Other than the exhaust note, I don’t find them very compelling. I can buy the “unique” argument but that’s not a tes

Usually you’re right. And there might be a few things being taken a bit out of context here. But Tucker Carlson is a terrible human being. Or at least he likes to say things that are horrible for publicity.

O.J. Simpson got off. He basically admitted he committed the double murder and we all know he is a violent man that has no place in society. Point is, his money got him off and O.J. was significantly poorer than M.J. Now O.J. is significantly poorer than I am, lol. Asshole deserves it.

I wouldn’t go as far “bargain exotic.” Its V8 is similar in performance to an LS3 or LT1. It doesn’t have much tech. It doesn’t use exotic materials. I simply don’t understand how they get away with charging so much for the car. It has good styling (getting old now) with good suspension tuning. But then, so do a lot
