These fancy strollers are such a racket. All those $1000 strollers are definitely of nicer quality than the $100-$200 ones, no doubt about that. But they are still pretty cheaply made. Nowhere near the quality they should be for that much money. They’re also all made in China so we know they’re not made in countries

What about the Audi R8? I usually prefer BMW over Audi, but I’d rather have an R8 over an i8 any day of the week.

Back then, all the luxury car coupes were like that though. They looked almost exactly like their sedan counterparts with longer front doors, no back doors, and maybe (or not) a slightly shortened wheelbase. I guess it’s a subjective thing.

Just be glad everyone is OK and no one was hurt.

Wow, the limiter was set to 113mph for anyone that wants to know. For reference, the 2010 Toyota Corolla has a top speed of 115mph. Ford also lied and explained that tires were the reason they limited the top speed. Yeah, that makes sense, right? Four cylinder FWD economy cars can do 115mph but the “performance” coupe

Centiliters.

Are you sure about that? I remember looking at these and thought they looked really cool. Overhead shots of cars always look out of proportion. In person they looked great, especially for the time.

I only saw one or two flashes of light. One in the background that looks like it went off right as the nose of the car hit the barrier. Not sure what it was for, but it looked like a normal flash. Not one of those flashes that blows up. The explosives you see are on the car roof itself and are not flashes.

Most weren’t calling cars like the F348 or F355 supercars back then. The cars I referred to have well less than 1000 examples in existence each. The F1 only has about 100. The F40 has 400? Or was there a scandal where owners proved there were a lot more made? Either way, they’re FAR more rare than a Corvette or

This is an unwinnable argument. I’ll just say that both sides are likely not the same. If there are ten examples of bad things Republicans did and 2 examples of Democrats being bad, Republicans will talk up those two things as if they were treason and simply not mention the 10 things they did wrong. Of course there

Back when I was growing up, we didn’t throw around the “supercar” name like candy on Halloween. It was reserved for exclusive low volume cars. Even 911 Turbos weren’t called supercars. I think even the NSX wouldn’t have been referred to as a supercar. Only cars like the XJ200, F1, or F40 would have been proper

Eh, I remember when the term got really popular when I was pretty young. I think it was used to describe exotic cars with particularly high performance levels. I almost feel like it was only reserved for cars like the F40, 959 and F1. Of course, different people had slightly different meanings for it. Now any fast

If you’re being sarcastic, it’s not obvious because there are assholes that would actually think that way.

Up until now, Google has shown that they are pretty careful about their self driving cars. All accidents up until now seem to have been the fault of third parties or when the car is in manual mode. I of course couldn’t say whether they’re ready to test driverless, but I believe Google would be responsible about that

I think the reason we focus on cars is because it’s something that can easily be changed. Agriculture can’t easily be changed because we have to eat (unless you can convince people to stop eating meat). Shipping containers can’t easily be changed because we rely on products from all over the world (unless you can

I love my ICEs, but we have to move away from burning fossil fuels. Electric cars is one small yet important step to doing that. We all should buy a manual >4 cylinder car for one last hurrah.

That’s the whole point of the meme. These guys were pretty... well, you know. And the meme always clearly and concisely lays out a reasonable argument on both sides. It’s that juxtaposition, like someone pointed out, that makes the meme funny.

If Chrysler dealerships were a little better they’d be a bit more tolerable to purchase. I had a good Jeep dealership I used to go to for service. Seems to be the exception rather than the rule though.

My wife has one. Eh, with the loss of the classic BMW steering, it just feels like any other German SUV with slightly sportier suspension tuning. She’s got the M Sport package with absolutely huge summer tires (275F and 315R) so yeah it handles OK. But still, it doesn’t have that sport sedan feel the first gen had.

Have you driven the first gen X5? My wife had one and it was good enough to have some fun on twisties driving through mountain roads. Sure, it wasn’t as nimble as a 3 series, but it was definitely more enjoyable than most sedans on the market at the time.
