Well Toyota is paying for the repairs. I don’t know if Toyota threw their supplier under the bus. It’s a simple fact that Dana provided the bad frames. Also, the pictures you show are all that generation of Tacoma. not sure what you’re trying prove.

The issue covers 2005-2010 Tacomas, 2007-2008 Tundras, and 2005-2008 Sequoias. The frames affected were insufficiently rust-proofed by Dana Holding Corp. of Ohio. An American auto parts company. It’s not even Toyota’s fault. They trusted their supplier and they got burned.

I mean just for the affected cars. Unless you’re making a joke about an FCA product being way too expensive to maintain for 10 years.

While I think FCA quality is pretty low, I think if I were offered an extended warranty to the tune of 10 years/100k miles, I’d be more than happy to accept this repair. I’m sure if it’s being handled by a qualified welder that it would be done properly and would probably then be the strongest weld on the car.

Except Tacoma frame failures were just due to rust. Evidently Japanese manufacturing didn’t take into account the level of salt on American roads. This Jeep issue was a MISSED WELD at the factory. That is really bad. It’s not just a missed spot weld on a unibody car (which are highly redundant). It’s not a stress

Isn’t this just a rip-off of the Total Gym? Watch out, Chuck Norris might come kick your butt.

Airbags are meant to work with seatbelts. Side curtain airbags save people from serious head injuries all the time, whether or not they are wearing their seat belt. People can also hit their head on the steering wheel even if wearing a seat belt.

Dude, airbags definitely save the lives of people who wear seatbelts. Even wearing a seatbelt, you can still hit your head on the steering wheel, side window, or the roof of your car. Side curtain airbags and steering wheel airbags actually work best for people who have their seat belts on.

Think about the CUV market in America. Do you honestly think that car would sell in the states? Basically an old school SUV riding on a truck chassis? No way. It needs to be unibody. It needs to have a lot of interior space. It needs to be rigid with a strong chassis to ride better like a car on the highway where

2019 GLE and GLS look very different. They are kinda like the E class and S class now.

It looks to be about the same size as the MB GLS. But this thing looks way too much like the new X5's interior. I do think the new BMW interior design language is much nicer than Mercedes, but I wonder if people will be put off by the fact that the X7 doesn’t seem much more premium than an X5. Maybe that’s not the

I wonder if there is an issue with SFO? That Asiana Airlines flight incident also happened at SFO if I’m not mistaken.

In America, buying a car is a requirement to work for most people. We have terrible public transit in many large cities. So for people with a steady paycheck and not much income, sometimes a 6-7 year loan is the only way to afford a cheap dependable car they can use to commute with. If they’re buying a Honda Fit for 7

I’m not saying you should disregard other expenses. I was just saying generally, that you should do it by total cost of the car, not just your payments on it.

I’m sure the profit margins are razor thin on cars like the Fit. That said, the amount of service they generate is probably fairly significant. They keep the lights on at Honda dealerships.

I personally think that’s the wrong way to think about it. 10% of your take home pay for how long? You could still get a payment comfortably in the 10% range but if your loan is 8 years long and you’re paying 8% interest, you are in over your head.

Nope, not true at all. There are always a ton of econoboxes for sale at your local Toyota or Honda dealer. People buy large expensive cars because they don’t know how to “settle” for a reasonable car. They have been told their entire lives to “live a little” and that their material happiness is more important than

I’m sure you’ll get plenty of responses like this, but at the least, both the consumer and the industry are at fault. IMO, most of the fault lies with the consumer. Creating long-term loans are a bad idea for most people, but there could be a legitimate reason for them to exist. For instance, if interest rates are

While i think he’s crazy and needs help, his point about social media is absolutely correct.

Yeah the basis for the engine that is being used was a Nissan racing engine. And all modern McLarens use the same basic V8 in all their cars.
