I find their behavior equally mystifying. I’m sure they’d say the same of me though.

Used STI’s are usually beaten on, get worse mileage (compared to FA20), have far higher insurance, worse ride quality and the biggest reason preposterously low depreciation.
Yes, have you sat in one of this generation? I own a premium which has the same interior and I find it perfectly adequate.
You’re absolutely right, but I’m an admitted WRXfanboy (and owner) so I’m not about to recommend those!
True, but if saving fuel and money is your goal. Why wouldn’t you get a subcompact?
You’re absolutely right, if tech features are important (which to a lot of buyers they absolutely are) the Honda is going to be an outstanding option. Honda is definitely going to sell tons of these!
I agree, but if you’re ready to spend 27k, why not WRX?
This is Jalopnik, I’d argue that it’s hard not to compare the price to enthusiast focused options!
If you want a fuel miser, the Prius C comes in at a far lower price point and makes a lot of sense.
That’s certainly true, but when one sees the price creep up that high it certainly gives pause, especially if the buyer has any sort of sporting in mind.
my biased fanboy is coming out but,
Considering how long ago the debuted that tech, and the fact that they’ve yet to do anything with it I’m going to guess it still has serious limitations.
That is essentially the goal of this rating, to encourage more effort being put into these systems. Yes their failure is unlikely to kill you, but that doesn’t mean they should be slap dashed together, not tested thoroughly and rarely updated.
It kills me to go to car meets and see crappy and work out all seasons on a performance car.
Front valences are a bear once you’re stuck in some cars. They basically become a scoop if you’re buried in snow and try to reverse. I’m really happy my new car has a skid plate attached to it so that doesn’t happen (this of course doesn’t help the high centering issue...).
If we agree that the best way to take down isis/l is to have the locals stand up to them, the the russian technique of proping up the existing regime does make sense.
funny you should use this as an example, my friend works at FCA and does in fact drive a WRB STI
Does it use variable pitch cyclic control like helicopters or is it using “regular” control surfaces and those rear fans for maneuvering?
yep, designed that way from the get go so they’re pretty durable
It has a clutch to get moving, they explain that in the video at some point
