One question though, if I was to want to disable my PIN on more than one Wi-Fi network would I have to create a new profile for each network?

Best thing I ever did to help with this was learn the Gmail keyboard shortcuts. Cuts down on the amount of time navigating my email tremendously. Also using filters for certain messages really helps as well.

Under $5 I would consider it, but there are many other modes of communication, although none are better, but forums, Facebook, Twitter, SMS, IRC... so many.

I used FileZilla to log into the FTP site using the name and password they gave me at signup and just dropped it in. I would guess if you're doing it from the web interface it might time out. Try using a dedicated FTP client and see if that works.
