Being nostalgic is normal healthy human emotion anyway. Both men and women gets nostalgic. Nostalgia is part of emotionally healthy human experience.

I do not even get why being nostalgic would be a bad thing and why catering to fans would be a bad thing. As people grew old (or mature if you like buzzwords), they like things that reminds them their youth. We have emotional attachment to things we encountered as growing up.

It is because everybody knows it is perfectly possible to put old movies into new format just as it was possible to put old books into Gutenberg. Copyright law is literally only thing that can prevent you from watching old movie on new device.
