Seventh Doctor: Joe Pesci

The script is so imaginative and overflowing with ideas. The Miniscope, the Drashigs, the detailed politics of Inter Minor. Holmes builds an entire world through hints and clues without ever leaving the spaceport. He establishes the story very quickly in two locations with mystery building as the story progresses. It

"The scene: a fogbound lighthouse on a dark, rocky island somewhere off
the English mainland, sometime around 1905. A small group of bickering
shipwreck survivors, superstitious workmen, and two time travelers are
hunted by a lethal yet secretive hostile alien."

Behind the scenes? You've been pretty up front about it.

I don't know, he played Nick as a tortured soul well enough in "I'm With the Band".

Bill Wyman would fit in perfectly with these guys. He never moves except on and off stage, and around underage girls.

Let's rock!

I really liked Kinski, Julio's Day, and Battling Boy. Matt Kindt's Red Handed came out this year. This is another great crime book along the lines of Pistolwhip and Revolver. The Fifth Beatle is another great book this year.

KotDT is great.

The zygon design with the suckers and cone like heads are creepy and sinister. It’s a great organic design that extends to the ship. I thought Woodnutt really sells it too. It’s like they spent the time and budget on that and none on the lame effect of the Skarasen. It’s what the Zygons want to project fear with to

All the signs read, "You shall not pass!"

Great writeup. Glad to hear you will be continuing with these. I always liked this serial back in the day because, hey, four Doctors and one via stock footage! Hurndall did an amazing job, so he counts. Despite a few negative aspects it still holds up as an enjoyable romp. Sarah is made to be a little bumbling despite

Curb Your Bitchiness

The shield surfing is a little much but not as nearly as bad as Legolas taking down the oliphaunt in ROTK.

My favorite is whenever Alex Lifeson plays his guitar.

Hipsters love the Dead now?

I would just continue in order. Foucault's Pendulum is next. It's not totally necessary but his books (not all and not always on significant levels) tend to allude to earlier books so it's kind of fun catching those allusions.

Well, it is not a found manuscript or first person account like some other Eco books, it's more of a dialog between Baudolino and Niketas Choniates told by an omniscient narrator. There is a fantasy element to Baudolino that isn't in Name of the Rose. There is a quest to find the kingdom of Prester John. There are

Is that by Jeremy Wilson? I've only read the edited version that loses much of the WWI background info showing how Lawrence fits into the bigger picture. It's still a great book but I always wanted that broader history.

Eco's Baudolino. Baudolino is a wonderful character. I think this may be my favorite Eco after Rose. Just a fun romp filled with magical lands, mythical creatures and the Holy Grail.
