Nowhere in my post was I judgemental or entitled. I was merely pointing out that 20% on each and every ticket is not required to make a living.

People definitely agree, they just don’t want to post and have people be rude to them.

You say some pretty rude things while whining that someone else was rude.

You people lack understanding. I’m not saying that everyone tips 20%. I am saying that 20% from every single ticket is not required to make a living. And for those of you screaming about taxes, everyone has taxes come out of their hourly wage. And those of you who say, but I don’t get a guaranteed 40 hour a week.

On a 6 hour shift bringing home $50 is still 8.33 an hour plus the what 3.75 an hour the restaurant pays is still 12 an hour, plus your income. So you get the funk out with your irrelevant math.

I am not condoning low tipping. I start my tips at 20% but that is hardly required for a server to earn a living. Let’s do a little math. At a sit down restaurant a 2 person ticket is probably about $30 on average. 20% of that is $6. Most diners are in and out in about an hour. And during busy times you may serve 5
