I think the kids have picked up on the idea that their parents are at least mildly obsessed with doing things they way "everybody" does them. It's come up a couple times now, where they'll say people don't do X (wear boots, shop for bras with their mom…I think there was another one, but it's escaping me). So whether

14) I agree. I also like how it shows that the Avatar State is used not just to bring balance to the world, but to bring balance to the Avatar. Aang uses it to become Mr. Badass Fighter, which is not his natural inclination. Korra uses it to heal the spiritual wounds inflicted by war, because she's already Ms. Badass

Yeah I'm operating from the assumption that Aang should have had a lifespan more like Roku's than Kyoshi's, but that could easily not be true. My main issue with the crackpot theory is that it involves a level of predestination that hasn't been really used on the show before - there's no indication that any one person

"Might there be a reason aside from Korra just being a doofus that there’s a lot of static between her and the Spirit World?"

I really enjoyed this episode…right up until it turned Colin's harassment of Pip (smoothie girl, I think that was her name?) into a joke. Blowing off her real distress because she's a "born-again virgin" and having Adam thank Colin for harassing her just really turned my stomach. I agree that chucking Colin out of the
