I’ve been to a grand total of one movie since Covid, but even before that, I don’t go to movies a lot.  I can probably count on one hand the number of non-kid movies I’ve been to in the past 20 years.  I would happily watch Bros on streaming or cable.

I love Billy, I am excited to see this movie, but honestly I just never go to the movies anymore. I genuinely can’t recall the last movie I saw in the theater. Maybe The Batman? It’s just not a thing I do anymore, and I don’t think I’m alone since the pandemic.

Rom coms in general aren’t going to make much money these days unless a big star is attached. Billy Eichner’s funny, but only TV famous. Bros would have been a better bet on a streaming service.

I will enthusiastically watch Bros when it comes to streaming. Comedy is a tough sell for me in a theater. TBH, *most* movies are a tough sell theatrically to me these days.

Good.

I feel that’s perhaps a very cynical take. Her character is doing her best to survive at the time with what choices she has. The fact that others underestimate her intelligence, including the audience, is an early subversion of the “bimbo trope”. I’d say that trope is one that continues to persists, with a lot of

We can argue specific rankings, but the Dominik thing is as good excuse as any to provide a retrospective on Monroe’s actual work. When people like him say “Does anyone watch Marilyn Monroe movies?”, someone needs to stand up and reply, “Yes, and here are the ones worth watching”.

I will profess I was always more a Audrey Hepburn fan then Marilyn Monroe fan, but what you say is definitely true and it warms my heart all the same.  She was a good person and to focus only on tragedy is wrong.  How people are treating her is similar to true crime victims, defining a unique human being only by how

It sure is fun to make up things nobody said to get mad at

We also have better taste. Some Like it Hot is delightful.

Honest this AV Club article doesn't even include the real "winning" statements such as when the interviewer points out Marilyn help uplift Ella Fitzgerald and fought against McCarthyism and the director just goes well this is about her killing herself and is dismissive of things I'd say are pretty clear cut good

The only way to atone for Monroe’s abuse for our pleasure is to graphically depict her abuse, also for our pleasure.

Some Like It Hot is considered one of the best comedies of all time, and its aged remarkably well for a movie about two guys playing drag to survivor.  The ending line is beyond fantastic.

The minute he had to ask if anyone watches Marilyn Monroe movies anymore, I was convinced he knows fuck-all about Marilyn Monroe.

I love this show & the entire cast but especially Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa. I really enjoy that she and Barbara, the veteran teachers, are wise & practical, but not cynical & they do care about their students.

Ifs kinda funny when these “do you own research” guys prove they haven’t with their own comments. Allen and Farrow were never married

Counter-point. He’s an overrated film maker and a creep.

It's a pretty big one.

Was not expecting so many Woody Allen simps in the comments section. He ain't never gonna fuck you, guys, what with you not being his adopted daughter and all.

Lemme guess: nebbishy Woody Allen proxy who is a professor of semiotics and entering his lion in winter years must choose between his beautiful middle aged wife, and an even more beautiful 20 year old who is a sapiosexual, while discussing Freud and Bergman along the way?
