I think Red Bull may have a better chance of being number 2 Constructor this year, unless Ferrari can get their act together.

One of things I find amusing about Porsche nerds like yourself is that you conveniently forget just how many four cylinder cars they have made starting with the very first model and continuing to today. And most of them, including your precious 912, sounded about as sexy as a Beetle with a loud exhaust.
I guess this is the closest Porsche will ever get to admitting they made a mistake. Of course, these two models will probably cost a third to a half more than the four cylinder models.
Granted, this race was over after the start, and it was doubtful that either Ferrari would have caught them even if they had not made any costly mistakes.
This site may be a journalistic entity, but their primary responsibility is churning out poorly written and researched garbage articles with enough snark and cynicism to generate clicks from the masses.
Ferrari never laughed at them. In 1964 the car was not ready and the team under John Wyer was unorganized. The next year under Carrol Shelby they won at Sebring and were on their way to winning LeMans but all of the Fords and Ferrari team prototype cars retired from the race. In 1966 the Fords swept the race. To have…
Shouldn't McParland do this story for you?
Yes, sales of all sports cars are down, but I can’t help feeling that the latest downward sales trend with the Boxster/Cayman was self inflicted to some degree due to:
Good luck finding one. There’s a reason they removed it as an option.
That’s not just any slushbox. The ZF 8 speed is fast, smooth and gets very good fuel economy. The latest installment of Engineering Explained on YouTube is entirely devoted to it.
Well I guess there is no reason to drove one. In fact they probably shouldn't have even bothered to make it, following your logic.
This is a nice synopsis but I would say most people who had any interest in the 924 or the 914 prior to it were more than aware of the VW/Audi connections to these cars. I certainly was, and most reviews of them made a point of discussing it in some detail. Although Porsche may have taken a hit for their performance…
The 944, 924s, and Alfa GTV6 were all within 2/10 of a second of each other’s 0-60 times. This was the mid-eighties okay? A 0-60 time in the low to mid eight seconds was not slow. A 911 Carrera posted a blisteringly fast 5.3 seconds but was significantly more money.
There were so many options for reasonably priced sports cars back in the eighties that it took me two years just to make up my mind. The 944 was my first choice, but just a little too much money. Next was the Alfa, but with no dealer or service in my area I backed away from it as well. The 924S was two years away from…
Well, you seem to have already made up your mind. I don’t think the comparison with a Cayman seems that crazy, if for no other reason than than the fact that they used it as a benchmark throughout development. You may be right, but I prefer to wait at least until one can make an educated guess.
You seem to confuse opinions as facts.
I hope PG has learned how to counter steer a little better than in his last track adventure...
I don't know how everything can already been said about it when nobody has even driven one.
Interesting that you can be so certain of this before anyone has even tested the car period. Never say never unless you like to look like a fool.
And why would any of these criticisms concern someone who drives around in a fifty year old 912 that was slower than a bus even when it was new?
