Or having more money than God.
Still gotta love that Martini & Rossi livery though.
I was literally thinking the same thing.
Smugness is antithetical to most of the Miata/FRS/BRZ owners I know. Now Corvette/BMW/Porsche owners are a different story. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Well, I disagree with them. My 280z and Supra had less horsepower/lb than my BRZ, and I enjoyed them as well, just as anybody did with a Sprite, MGB, TR-3, etc.
And that said light car will be much easier on tires, brakes, etc.
The 2 series models downstream of M240 sure. But I am not so sure that people buy this car for AWD. Could be wrong though.
I was thinking a four wheel version of the race, but this is cool, and I had no idea it had already been applied to motorcycle racing.
Pretty sure that’s Liane Engeman in the picture with Donna and Janet, not Suzy Dietrich. Liane was Janet Guthries regular endurance racing partner, and those three raced at Sebring together in a Matra in 67, an AMC Javelin in 68, and the Healey you referred to in 69.

You forgot a couple:
Most performance car manufacturers do a good job of matching the right tire and wheel combinations for the best overall performance/handling characteristics. Unless your racing, focusing solely on which setup produces the lowest lap time is taking an incomplete approach.
I am currently running 235/45/17's on my BRZ. They are a little taller than stock, and certainly heavier, but they stick a lot better, and still feel lively at the same time. Who cares about losing a little speed if you aren’t racing anyways?
It could have been in a wood pile next to his driveway. Snakes can show up nearly anywhere, especially in suburban areas.
Or a few more grand and buy a Cayman S.
It certainly is a bigger car, but an extra two hundred pounds is nothing. And the AWD version of the BMW might weigh even more. And if you are really concerned about weight you could buy a Cayman.
