Agree 100%. Collecting anything, whether its cars or trophy wives, doesn’t necessarily mean you really love them.

I did a tire upgrade on my BRZ this spring, and love the change from the stock tires. Doesn’t take that much to breathe in a little life to an older car, and a hell of a lot cheaper than a new one.
Four years and counting with my BRZ. If I ever get bored with it I will start modding it. My Subaru mechanic has one that is making over 400 hp with a turbo, e85, and a tune.
So, are you saying every vehicle should have an over abundance of power just in case some moron wants to make a sand rail out of it? I’m sorry, but this build is just stupid and a waste of money. I just bought one of these, and there is more than enough power to stay in front of traffic. It is also very quiet,…
I’m starting to see more and more of them in North Dakota, where the only salt you will encounter is an alkali lake.
Worse than a PT Cruiser? Still the shittiest rental car I have driven.
Just like they did through the seventies and eighties before it. Remember the Aspen, Omni, Diplomat, and countless other crap cans of that era.
Karma is a bitch...
There wasn’t nearly as much competition then and you should know that. It actually means quite a bit when you consider how many Outbacks and Foresters Subaru sells. But don’t take my word for it, look at the monthly sales figures and then argue that it’s “fake news”.
Best selling model for Subaru for the last year, so cross the last two sentences of your list
We just traded in our 2014 Forester on one of these, and the Crosstrek is superior to it in just about every regard. Looking forward to spending some quality time in this puppy!
My wife and I drove one today on a very hilly stretch of of road, and I thought it was fine. Power obviously didn’t come on strong but throttle response was smooth and the car carried momentum well. It’s going to be my wife’s car, but I would have no problems driving it.
My dad got to meet Betty while he was going to flight school in Florida for his commercial license. His first plane was almost identical to the Fairchild PT-19 that Betty owned.
If the head gasket failures and bone crushing ride didn’t doom this car, the fleecing of potential customers by the dealers finished the job. Plus, it never had a chance competing with the Mustang.
I know the feel; I have had my BRZ for almost four years now, and I can’t even think of getting rid of it.
I really liked the Fiesta ST, and was considering one before I bought my BRZ. I have heard of a lot of problems with them over time, however.
That wasn’t the intention, but even if I could afford it, I wouldn’t buy a tarted up Subaru Outback with a V-8 stuck in it. Another hundred grand for any engine is just crazy.
We have the same problem here, especially in the spring. Does the highway department even try to maintain them?
No, I can think of at least thirty cars I would rather spend that kind of money on, both new and used.
No, to truly embody the spirit of Jalopnik it would have to be twenty years old.
