In stock form without bigger/stickier tires it is fast enough because it is such fun at lower speeds. But I understand what Jeff is saying about this version. Raise the handling and braking limits and you need more horsepower to exploit those characteristics.

I think all of the handling and appearance upgrades are improvements to be sure. But I would rather stick 5-6 grand for a turbo into my paid for 2014 BRZ instead.

My only rebuttal to this would be to find the best 911SC for thirty grand instead..

I would be more concerned about shear loading on the tabs slotted into the columns than the columns themselves, which are acting mostly in compression.

Why do you think the horsepower wars have found a battleground for everything from a Honda Civic to supercars? The need to act like a swinging Dick knows no limits.

No, only the 2018 base Impreza is based on the new modular platform. Neither the WRX or STI have had any major upgrades since 2015.

Have you sat in a new STI? They are pretty damn nice.

I sat in a 2018 STI last week at the dealer and it is miles better than my 15 WRX inside, which I will admit was low rent. I was one of those who thought getting an STI over a WRX was a waste of money. I was wrong. I would lay down 50k on this car over a current M2.

I couldn’t agree more, and have been pondering both for my BRZ for quite awhile. At this point, if I were going the FI route, a small turbo with limited boost seems to be the best solution unless you build the engine to accept more boost.

I don’t know, I am partial to the smallmouth design, like the early TR 3. Let’s put it this way, at least it isn’t a Lexus grille.

I think you are mistaking “frumpy” for classic. The original 404 coupe was a beautiful car, inspired by the best designs by the best designs of the time.

Tarantino was a spineless sychophant of Weinstein for years, and a bit of a bully himself.

Still kicking myself for turning in my 15 WRX last week when the lease expired. With an ending residual value of just $17,000, I should have purchased it and sold it for at least $5k more.

We have an older beat to shit one at work and it is by far my favorite vehicle in the motor pool.

It’s alright, I got really tired of every loan I ever had by the end. Both of our current vehicles will be paid off this year, and that will feel really good.

So I was able to see the original Ford GT next to the new one at the Petersen a couple weeks ago, and was kind of stunned at how small the original was. And as amazing and groundbreaking as it was, I don’t think it was anything but a full on race car. The new one on the other hand would probably make a very good grand

Well proportioned? It ruins the the inherently great proportions of a Miata while making a Mustang look like a parody of itself.

That’s all that really matters, isn’t it? My son is still driving the 2006 Legacy we bought new for my wife. Yeah, we had to replace the head gaskets on it a few years ago, but it drives like a new car and he still loves it.

Still a dick move, but not strictly illegal.

Really rich people borrow tons of money-using other people’s money to pay for it.
