I agree that it is a hassle but it is actually quite affordable. You can pick up a wii u and a 1tb external hard drive (more space than you get with than a ps4 or xb1) for slightly less than buying a ps4.

Well it's because of the processor being a low power, highly efficient solution. Wii U processor will do things faster than the PS4/One's processor, but still wont do as much because of it's lack there of 5 more cores and 6gb more of RAM and etc etc gpu. :/

As an artist for games as well, I agree that developers shouldn't feel obligated to show some sort of artistic expression, but I think there's a place for that. Some games can be more about that toy-like aspect of gaming, and others can focus more on the art and narrative potential of gaming.
