Our cruise was not able to dock at THREE ports of call due to weather. If you booked a tour with the cruise line, you got your money back. With an independent tour operator, too bad no refund.

Yeap. I got offered a job to work overseas. It was a 2 year contract. They would hold on to my passport for those 2 years for safe-keeping.
Cruise Ship Abandons 9 Passengers On African Island After Tour Overruns
Heard about this on a local radio station. Update was they were being permitted to rejoin the cruise except for one couple, who were apparently “checking out their options.”
Ah, I missed that. I need new glasses, I guess.
A volunteer football coach, no less.
I enjoy that someone decided that it was somehow important to note that the guy being quoted is a football coach. Because that’s what really matters here.
You’re much better off doing a tour excursion with the cruise ship company rather than a private local tour since they’re much more likely to accommodate the all-aboard time. Same goes for cruise ship staff: if you miss the all-aboard time, you can get in pretty bad trouble including being fired. I’m sure this still…
Too late. Vertical video resolution is so popular even Youtube added it.
It’s fine to not like TikTok but this amounts to the government banning a platform for speech, based on next to no justification. There’s a lot of silliness on TikTok but a lot of activist / news / political content too. Sure you can use Facebook or whatever, but why would you trust them any more?
Chaya’s actually been suspended from TikTok itself for years now— LoTT is all Twitter, Instagram, and Substack. It’s gonna take more than this bill for us to be free of her, unfortunately
I agree with all of that, but from my experience Tiktok ironically has a far saner and healthier commentariat than Instagram reels. For the most part Tiktok comments tend to be uplifting and supportive whereas Instagram reel comments are vindictive and nit-picky. I can’t figure out why that’s the case, and it could…
The Sport Track sold for more money, pretty sure that is the start and end of “why?
Yeah, since the Explorer is an SUV’d Ranger, if you turn the Explorer into a pickup it’s kind of the same thing. It’s a bit like when BMW turns a sedan into a coupé and then makes a four-door version of the coupé - in both cases you can charge more for the more convoluted variant.
1st Gen Explorer was hugely popular and mechanically a Ranger.
Chevrolet sold a 4 door S10 and sales were low. GM was wise enough to offer a 4 door colorado when it launched but I don’t remember seeing many of them until the later years of that generation as they were VERY expensive and the consensus was “i’ll just buy a 1500 instead of spending all this money on a midsize truck”
Lived in MS for a few years (originally from, and currently living in, Pennsylvania).
Obviously corruption and shitty things exists everywhere, but the Deep South is on a different level.
I’d happily launch Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama into the sun, given the chance. And I’ll throw Florida in just for fun.
I don’t understand why the FBI is not stepping in. It’s clear that the local government cannot be trusted to investigate themselves.
They just keep adding zeroes to the eventual settlement they’ll pay the family. Of course, it’s the tax payers who will foot the bill and not anyone in a position of authority. Plus, it’s Mississippi, so those authorities (probably rightly) assume no one is going to remove them from office.
