Some of that is the shitters, but most of it is honestly just overuse. The more traffic a trail sees, the more damage it endures. Deserts are some of the most fragile biomes, so that damage gets magnified.

On a side note, trail maps for those of us that have color deficiency (color blind) vision just suck! Purple and blue lines all over a map are hard as hell to tell apart and the green lines are invisible.

I have trail ridden in moab several times and I have to say that there are still a lot of trails open. ATVs and SXS are the issues right now all over the country in trail closing due to damage. Had to be multiple drivers. Driver A is told get in the truck at 5 AM and to drive around and be at a center/charger by 5 PM. Driver B shows up at 5 PM and drives around and is at a depot at 5 AM where Driver A is pulling up to take the keys to the rig.
