I disagree. Solidarity and community are important, and feeling sore can be rewarding, but if there were no negative consequences to civil disobedience, then it would take no courage to stand up for what you believe in. We need to let others know that we will fight for what we believe in, repercussions be damned!

Civil disobedience without negative consequences isn’t really disobedience. In fact, I’d argue that the negative consequences are the most powerful component of such action.
